The Passion of Augustine by Léa Pool (Québec, 2015)
The film stars Céline Bonnier as Mother Augustine, a Roman Catholic nun who teaches music in a convent school in rural Quebec in the 1960s and who is fighting to preserve her school against the backdrop of the social changes wrought by Vatican II and Quebec's Quiet Revolution. The movie also describes the Catholic nuns as they have to accept their identities as women in a political climate that puts into question what defined their lives and forces them to reconsider their place as women in the religious order they thought would shield them from questioning life.
