The Robert Fortenbaugh Memorial Lecture is presented each year on November 19th, the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. The goal of the lecture is to speak to the literate general public without abandoning solid scholarly moorings.
The annual Robert Fortenbaugh Memorial Lecture will be held on November 19, 2019. The 2019 speaker is Brooks D. Simpson of Arizona State University. Simpson will speak on “The Rollercoaster Reputation of President Ulysses S. Grant.”
